Sensory rooms play a pivotal part in assisting with the development of children with sensory issues. They are also hugely enjoyed by children with other learning difficulties and disabilities and as such are a fundamental part of Camp Mohawk’s range of facilities.
There are two sensory rooms at Camp Mohawk, both next door to the soft play room. Unlike the soft play, the sensory rooms are there to help children to relax and stimulate the senses in a calm environment. The largest is a colourfully illuminated padded white room featuring; mirrors on the walls, coloured floor to ceiling bubble tubes, a water bed, colour corresponding pressure pads and a night sky tunnel, amongst others.
The smaller sensory room is a darkended environment with a UV ceiling light showing up glow in the dark wall art, glow in the dark bubble tube. The are relaxing bean bags and a sensory chair for added comfort.
We are always developing and adding new elements to the sensory rooms.
