The pond area is an accessible woodland section of Camp Mohawk which plays host to a variety of pondlife and minibeasts. The pond houses a growing number of fish, frogs and other water dwelling creatures. As well as picnic benches linked by accessible path, you will find diverse woodland habitat, including areas of rotting logs which are prime real estate for beetles, bugs and other woodland insects.
We encourage children to carefully examine the creatures with our ‘creature peeper’ magnifying glasses (available on request) before placing them back where they were found. We also have a number of wildlife books and information boards which assist with learning about the wildlife and the creatures that can be found.
